He's BEN there before

318 yds, 3 tds, no picks: that was last year's stats in the opener against Utah. 286 yds, 5 tds, no picks yesterday against coach Jim Harbaugh's debut for the Stanford Cardinal. While an encouraging start, let's not book a plane to New Orleans just yet. UCLA QB Ben Olson had an identical opener last year against another (understatemnet of the year) subpar school, Utah. This time Olson caged the Cardinal, easily the worst team in the PAC-10 and possibly one of the worst in the nation. For an athlete who was once touted as the nation's top recruit, Olson has yet to live up to expectations. Even though he threw 2 td in the first half, the majority of his passing yards came in the second half, along with the other 3 tds. So hold off the national championship talks before he takes down a formidable opponent with the resemblance of a defensive squad. Until then, enjoy the next 2 games as well (BYU and Utah) as it looks like Dorrell and company have scheduled the Washington Generals for the first 3 weeks of the season. As for Stanford, word of advice: you might want to check if Harbaugh has any eligibility left.
