Am I the only person who doesn't care about the FIBA Americas Championship. The U.S. rolled through the Argentinians (sans their Olympians) en route to a gold medal and a spot in the Olympics next year. WOW, what a great accomplishment. Pat yourselves on the back guys, you deserve it. Shooting 60% from a shortened 3-point line and 75% from the field is a huge accomplishment, even if your opponents cleared the lane faster then Moses parted the Red Sea. Everytime I flipped the channel, I saw either Amare or Lebron or Dwight dunking on or by someone. I think Coach K even posterized someone.
I can't help but wonder where these guys were 4 years ago? They'er more Green Team then they are Dream. Maybe there were some underlying agendas. Could Kobe have been showcasing in hopes of luring a sucker to the Lakers? Was he was trying to make nice after selling out his team and franchise last month? Call me a skeptic, but I just can't be happy for this group as a whole. As much as I love to see these guys in the NBA, when it comes to international play, I'd rather watch the traffic channel. With that said, I hope my comments weren't taken the wrong way, congrats on the victory boys, we're all proud of you. Good luck in China!!!
