RIOT IN THE BIG HOUSE

Lesson to be learned: Don't look past this week's game. In what was supposed to be a walk through the park, Michigan was stunned by Applachian State 34-32, that's right I-AA. App State. At times, it seemed like the Wolverines were still thinking about their loss to the Trojans in the Rosebowl. At other times, it seemed like they weren't thinking at all. Missed field goals and extra points and interceptions are just some of the reasons why the Wolverines will be playing in the Oreo Cookie Bowl at year's end. While most ranked teams will whoop on the stepchildren they are facing this weekend, Michigan will feel the sting from this one for a while. Heisman candidates Mike Hart and Chad Henne might as well concentrate on their Heisman campain, as this loss has all but crushed any hopes of playing in the title game. With upcoming games again the Ducks, Irish, Nittany Lions, Badgers and Buckeyes, Michigan better get over this loss quick and save some of today's tears just in case.

With that said, we'd like to honor the Mountaineers by giving them some photo love on this blog, 'cause we both know that this will be the last time we'll ever hear from those North Carolinians. Food for thought: if Furman and the Citadel beat the Mountaineers, what does that say about the Wolverines?
