NFC Preview

East
Dallas Cowboys: Can Romo recover from playoff debacle? Can Wade Philips coach? Dallas should overcome Philips and win the division.

Philadelphia Eagles: How is McNabb's knee? That seems to be the question in camp, and can he stay healthy for an entire season? Donovan has a lot to prove after what Jeff Garcia did with the Eagles last year. Should compete for the division but win the wild card.

New York Giants: No Tiki Barber, no offense. Eli can't carry the weight and the pressure, just ask Tiki.

Washington Redskins: How long before Joe Gibbs is "let go"?

North
Chicago Bears: Only thing holding them back from another appearance in the Super Bowl is Rex Grossman. We should see the defense still dominate and overcome Sexy Rexy.

Detroit Lions: The Lions are guaranteeing at least 10 wins. I'm not so sure, but I think they'll be much improved. Look for an 8 win season.

Green Bay Packers: So Brett Favre came back for one last hurrah, or is it his last? Favre will outlive and outplay us all. Not much else to help him though. Brett should just retire and wait for Canton to call.

Minnesota Vikings: Adrian Peterson will be a bright spot on an otherwise dismal season.

South
New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees has looked unholy in the preseason, no wonder Cam Cameron cries when he thinks about what could have been.

Carolina Panthers: How long before Steve Smith loses it and punches one of his quarterbacks? Good receivers but who will get them the ball?

Atlanta Falcons: Maybe Joey Harrington and the Falcons will be the feel-good story of the year. I think they may surprise some people and win 7 to 8 games.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Is Chris Simms' spleen fully healed? Who cares, Jeff Garcia should help but not enough to do any damage.

West
Seattle Seahawks: Seattle has another playoff push left in them, but how many? Hasslebeck and Shaun Alexander should win the division and go deep in the playoffs, but don't expect a Super Bowl.

San Francisco 49ers: Everyone thinks this might be the year the 49ers make the jump. Who am I to disagree. Frank Gore is a beast and Alex Smith is one year improved.

St. Louis Rams: Marc Bulger signed a big extension, but everyone is high on Stephen Jackson this year, and with good reason. Jackson should run through defenses, but do the Rams have enough to dethrone Seattle in the west? Look for a wild card.

Arizona Cardinals: Everyone's darlings last year. Matt Leinart has plenty of weapons and James should bounce back from his horrendous year last season. Still not ready to make noise just yet, they've broken too many hearts in the past.
