In Like Flynn!

Matt Flynn and his #2 ranked Tigers sent the Hokies packing on Saturday night. In what was the supposed to be a battle of the defenses, the Tigers punched the Hokies right in the face. Led by Flynn's 217 yds, the Tigers went up 14-0 in the first quarter and never looked back. LSU's defense held up all night, limiting the Hokies to a measly 149 yds. The Hokies got so desperate that they even pulled their starting qb with 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter for true freshman Tyrod Taylor. Not to say he's not starting material, but give the guy a chance, don't just throw him into an away game where you're being dominated. For what was supposed to be one of the top Ds of the nation, all I saw were a bunch of missed tackles and exploited coverages. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, but it's time to put the emotions of the offseason behind. Va. Tech was never should have been considered a contender and after Saturday's game, any hopes of title game are out the window. LSU on the other hand should cruise through the next month with games against Middle Tennessee, South Carolina and Tulane. The intensity should pick up with games against Florida, Auburn and Arkansas in the second half of the season. Barring any major injuries, expect to see these Tigers in New Orleans in January.
