High school phenom O.J. Mayo committed to USC last year and will begin his campaign to the NBA as a freshman this year. Call me a pessimist, but I'm gonna wait until O.J. proves himself before I go and buy his jersey. Mayo seems to be the epitome of a modern day athlete. Prior to signing, he informed the media that he would only stay at SC for 1 year before leaving for the NBA. He wouldn't give head coach Tim Floyd his cell phone #. Couple that with an assault charge on a referee and a marijuana incident with a couple of his homies and you have a recipe for disaster. For O.J.'s sake, he better be as good as he says he is. SC's basketball program seemed to be headed in the right direction before getting bounced by North Carolina in the big dance last year. Hopefully, Mayo can put his ego aside and become the true leader which he is capable of being. If not, I want my money back, I asked for no mayo in this sandwich?
